The curriculum is designed to allow the students to
first acquire the basic knowledge and experimental skills in the biology
and biochemistry of plants and animals, at the molecular, cellular, and organismal levels. They then can select and focus on microbial, animal,
and /or plant biotechnology. In addition, students will gain experience
in the principles and techniques in biotechnology through specially
designed laboratory courses. There is also a course in business and
social aspects of biotechnology. The highlight of the training is a year
long Senior Experimental Project which includes individually supervised
research projects in research laboratories and symposium-type
presentations of results.
